Founder’s Award Dinner Video

Fordham University celebrated its ninth annual Founder’s Award Dinner on March 22 at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria.

Video of the evening will come to this page soon.

The annual fundraising event, which benefits the Fordham Founder’s Presidential Scholarship Fund, raised $2 million and recognized three accomplished alumni. The 2010 Founder’s Award recipients were Maurice J. Cunniffe, FCRH '54; Mario J. Gabelli, CBA '65; and Regina M. Pitaro, FCRH '76.

Winning at Any Cost

The Curran Center hosted "Winning at Any Cost: Vince Lombardi and the Catholic Contribution to America’s 'Must-Win' Obsession," on Monday, October 5, 2009, with Jeffrey Marlett, Ph.D., professor of Religious Studies, College of Saint Rose, Albany, N.Y.



Established in 2001, The Francis and Ann Curran Center for American Catholic Studies is an inter-disciplinary center sponsoring a four-fold set of programs: national conferences; public lectures, symposia and readings; faculty seminars; and an undergraduate interdisciplinary certificate program.

Mark Naison, Ph.D.—The Notorious Ph.D.—rapped "(When you're from the Bronx) You Got to be Strong," a tribute to Supreme Court Justice Nominee Sonia Sotomayor on behalf of the Bronx African American History Project at Fordham University. Music by DJ Charlie Hustle. (Portions of this video were shot at the PS 140 graduation ceremony on June 24, 2009.)

He's Notorious

Spring, something, is bustin' out all over. Mark Naison has a big shout out at BOOGIEDOWNER ("Yes, the Bronx IS burning... Burning hot with cultural events, amazing architecture, tight knit residential communities, and acres and acres of wide open green space," they say).
